He applied this knowledge to personal training and strength and conditioning roles with swimming clubs, contributing to the development of both individual athletes and teams.
With several years of industry experience, Jason returned to education to complete a Master’s degree in Sport Rehabilitation at St Mary’s University, Twickenham. Through this advanced training, he developed expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and rehabilitating a range of physical injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. During this time, he worked predominantly with footballers, swimmers, cyclists, and triathletes.
Jason combines his deep understanding of both performance and rehabilitation to offer a holistic approach to sports massage. He tailors each session to the athlete's current needs, considering their stage of training or proximity to an event or race. Jason employs advanced myofascial release and trigger point methods to optimise the treatment, as well as more gentle massage techniques when required.
Jason also understands that sports massage also offers numerous benefits for non-athletes, including stress reduction, improved circulation, pain management and increased flexibility. It can also help alleviate chronic pain, improve posture, and promote better sleep. By targeting muscle tension and addressing imbalances, sports massage can contribute to overall well-being even for those with non-active lifestyles.
A lifelong athlete himself, Jason competed as a swimmer in short-distance 50m and 100m events, before naturally transitioning into triathlon. He regularly competes in events from sprint distance to full Ironman, and has developed a particular interest in cycling, participating in time trials and embracing the technical aspects of the sport.
